Join us for a VACo Education Event

The evening of Wednesday, February 1, VACo and Virginia Rural Center will team up to host the Rural Caucus Reception and Dinner. Majority Leader Kirk Cox will be the keynote speaker and talk to Virginia’s rural counties about issues that affect them most. Register online or by submitting the Rural Caucus Reception and Dinner Registration Form. The registration fee is $60.

Registration for VACo County Government Day will open at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 2. The Honorable Governor Terry McAuliffe is the keynote speaker followed by legislative briefings by VACo Team members. Click here to view the agenda. A boxed lunch will be provided. Register online or by submitting the VACo County Government Day Registration Form. The registration fee is $40.

Virginia County Board Chairpersons’ Institute will be held Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4. A preliminary agenda is available online. Register online or by submitting the Virginia County Board Chairpersons’ Institute Registration Form. Registration is $295 and includes instructor fees, educational materials and meals. Guests are welcome to attend the Friday evening reception and dinner for $50, or all meals for $150.

Omni Richmond has graciously offered to extend the room block date until Friday, January 20. To reserve a sleeping room during any of our February events, check out our dedicated online room reservation page or call 1-800-THE-OMNI and use code “VACo County Government Day” to unlock our special event rate of $131. Omni Richmond is participating in the HUNGER program, which will provide one week of meals to a family of four for every online reservation. Consider reserving online to help a family. Room Reservation cut off is 5 p.m. January 20. Room rate is not guaranteed after that date. Hotel Check-In is at noon and Check-Out is at 3 p.m.

Below are the parking decks available to all event attendees:

1. James Center Parking Deck- Day Parking and Overnight Parking allowed. Deck located beneath the hotel, entrance at 1021 East Cary Street Daily Rates (subject to change without notice): $4 per hour for the first three hours, then $3 per hour up to a $21 maximum per day (Cash or Credit Card) $3 Evening Rate, enter after 4 pm, exit before 3 am Daily rate charges apply if you enter before 4 pm or if you exit after 3 am.

2. Shockoe Parking Deck Corner of 12th Street and Canal Street- Directly across from the main entrance of hotel. LOWER LEVEL ONLY (Left Lane). Day Parking Allowed and Overnight Parking Allowed. Daily Rates (subject to change without notice): $3 per hour up to a $18 maximum per day (Cash or Credit Card) $4 Evening Rate, enter after 3 pm, exit before 5 am Daily rate charges apply if you enter before 3 pm or if you exit after 5 am. Saturday- Sunday, Right Lane Available for Day Parking Only

3. 14th Street Parking Deck (No Overnight Parking) 1400 East Cary Street Daily Rates (subject to change without notice): $5 parking per day – enter before 9 am and exit between 2 pm and 6 pm (Cash or Credit card)
4. Virginia Street Garage Parking Deck (No Overnight Parking) 100 Virginia Street Daily Rates (subject to change without notice): $8 parking – enter before 9 am and exit between 2 pm and 6 pm (Cash only)
