RICHMOND (April 13, 2016)—The Virginia Association of Counties is pleased to announce that Katie Boyle will join the team on July 1 as Director of Government Affairs. Boyle is a familiar face to VACo members and staff after serving 11 years in various legislative positions for Fairfax County.

“The VACo Team will benefit from Katie’s breadth of experience and analysis of local government issues,” VACo Deputy Executive Director Dean Lynch said. “Katie is a young lobbyist with a lot of experience. She is bright, and we’re excited to welcome Katie to VACo.”

Boyle steadily rose through the ranks in Fairfax County. She started as a Legislative Clerk in 2005 before becoming a Legislative Assistant. Boyle was promoted to Legislative Associate in 2009. Then in 2013, Boyle was named Deputy Legislative Director and advocated on behalf of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on a variety of legislative issues before the General Assembly.

“Fairfax County has been my professional and personal home for a long time,” Boyle said. “I leave with great memories. But I’m excited to have the opportunity to still advocate for Fairfax County – and for all counties in the Commonwealth.”

Boyle holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia.
