DCJS Announces New Funding Opportunities for Local Governments

DCJS has announced several new funding opportunities that local governments in Virginia can take advantage of.

The Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Grant Program
Through the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) grant program, approximately $4,000,000 is available to assist with preventing, preparing for, and responding to the novel coronavirus. Each applicant can request up to $50,000 to pursue a variety of projects that address these goals. Byrde/Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne/JAG) Program
Two funding opportunities are funded by the federal Byrne/Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne/JAG) program. The first of these solicitations is for law enforcement equipment and training, and applicants can request up to $25,000 to fund a variety of programs.  Details can be found here: https://www.dcjs.virginia.gov/grants/programs/2022-byrnejag-grant-9-month-law-enforcement-training-and.

The second solicitation prioritizes public safety-based programs, which includes community policing and youth engagement programs, officer safety and wellness, overtime, and diversion programs.
