VACo 82nd Annual Conference Update

Have you made your room reservations for VACo’s 2016 Annual Conference? The Omni Homestead Room Reservation forms were sent by email to VACo Board of Directors, County Administrators and confirmed exhibitors on Wednesday, June 15. The hotel has blocked out the conference dates in the online registration system, and only faxed or mailed reservations will be accepted. We created a preliminary agenda, so you know when to be where. To refresh yourself on the room reservation process, check out the VACo Lodging Guidelines. If you have any questions about room reservations, contact Carol Cameron.

If you plan to attend the conference, but stay at a different location, our Alternative Lodging List includes lodging near The Omni Homestead. VACo does not have any agreements or arrangements with these establishments. Note, there are no meals included in your conference registration. If you stay at The Omni Homestead, your breakfast(s) and dinner(s) are included in the cost of your room fee, including the Sunday night annual banquet for those with Sunday night room reservations. If you stay elsewhere and wish to attend the banquet, you will need to purchase a banquet ticket for $75. The option to purchase a banquet ticket will be on your conference registration form.

The conference registration forms will be available in mid-August. Conference registration is separate from room reservations, and you must be registered to attend conference events. We are again offering tiered registration fees for early bird, regular and late registrations. Register early to save your county the most!

Register for the VACo Annual Golf Tournament today. We will be selling Mulligans again this year and donating the proceeds to a local charity, Bath County Christmas Mother, Inc., a registered 501c3 that provides assistance to needy families during the holidays. Not only does it provide gifts, the charity also provides food, closing, heating assistance and help with utility bills. Last year we raised almost $200, which was donated to bawf.org. Consider coming out and buying Mulligans to help a local charity and your golf score.
