As competition for talent continues to intensify, employee benefits that provide meaningful financial support can play an important role in both recruitment and retention. Through VACo’s partnership with the National Association of Counties (NACo), Virginia counties have access to Savi, a comprehensive student loan assistance program designed to help employees navigate federal student loan repayment and forgiveness opportunities.

Providing access to Savi offers counties a valuable tool to support employees while strengthening workforce recruitment and retention efforts. To date, Savi has identified approximately $34 million in projected student loan savings for participating Virginia employees, helping borrowers reduce debt, lower monthly payments, and pursue loan forgiveness opportunities.
