Water supply planning, water quality in the Chesapeake Bay restorartion and Solar Energy were key issues addressed during the second annual Go Green seminar held by VML and VACo on August 2. The event was held at the Richmond Convention Center. The seminar also provided additional information about how localities can be certified under the Green Government Challenge (above.) Presenters on the subject of solar energy were Robert Lazarro, Director of the Northern Virginia Regional Commission and VACo’s own Joe Lerch. The presentations on water supply and Chesapeake Bay restoration were conducted respectively by Scott Kudlas, Director of DEQ’s Office of Water Supply, and Russ Baxter, Deputy Secretary of Natural Resources for the Chesapeake Bay.
