As an update to our earlier article regarding the school capital referendum language in the state budget, we wanted to make you aware that the Governor proposed several amendments to this language on Friday, June 26, which were accepted by the General Assembly Monday, June 29. The Governor’s amendments largely dealt with the timing requirements for placing a referendum on the ballot. The final, approved language may be found at this link (listed as clause 2 under “Additional Enactments”). We encourage you to share this language with your legal counsel in planning for any potential referendum.
