2016 Holidays at The Executive Mansion

November 1, 2016

The Executive Mansion contacted VACo this past summer requesting our assistance in asking counties to participate in the Executive Mansion Holiday Tree decorating for the second year in a row. Counties were quick to respond, saying they would reach out to local artists/artisans to create an ornament themed “Home for the Holidays.”

We thank each of you for working within your communities to make this happen. We have received many of the ornaments and are taking photos and writing descriptions of each. After the VACo Annual Conference, we will create a webpage to feature all of the submissions and to showcase the artist/artisan.

The 2016 ornaments will be on display at the Executive Mansion on December 1 immediately following the Capitol Tree Lighting, which begins at 5:30 p.m. More information on tour hours, parking, and other specifics can be found on The Executive Mansion website.

In 2015, we received 62 ornaments, which were photographed and posted on our website. These ornaments will be on display in VACo’s lobby. If you’re interested in stopping by to see last year’s ornaments, feel free to reach out to us at 804.788.6652.
