Wise County's Robert R. Adkins elected VACo President

The membership of the Virginia Association of Counties elected Wise County Supervisor Robert R. Adkins as 2010-2011 President during VACo’s 76th Annual Conference in Bath County.

Adkins and other newly elected officers started their terms at the association’s Annual Business Meeting on Nov. 9. Adkins replaces Isle of Wight County Supervisor Phillip A. Bradshaw and becomes the first-ever president from Wise County and the third-ever from Southwest Virginia.

“I’m very proud to stand before you as the (2010-2011) VACo President,” Adkins said during his acceptance speech. Read the rest of the story.

Watch Adkins address the VACo membership for the first time as president.
