Funding Cut Proposed for Planning District Commissions

Additional analysis of the Governor’s budget revealed a proposal to cut Virginia’s Planning District Commissions (PDCs) by $70,000 per year.

This represents a reduction of around 3.9 percent. PDCs play a critical role in addressing regional challenges in the Commonwealth.

VACo opposes this cut and instead supports increased state funding and additional grants of authority to PDCs and other efforts that promote regional initiatives.
