2008 Virginia Interoperable Communications Conference Will be held September 30 - October 1 at the lovely Norfolk Waterside Marriott in Norfolk, Virginia. This year’s conference agenda is currently being developed, but we plan to have more participant interaction and panel discussions where questions and answers can be freely exchanged. This will be our 5th Statewide Conference and we hope to have 300+ attendees! On-line registration is now available at http://www.dcjs.virginia.gov/trainingevents/interop/2008.cfm. Hotel accommodations are also available by calling the Norfolk Marriott at (757) 627-4200 OR (800) 874-0264. The rate is $94.00, plus tax. Please be sure to contact the hotel by Monday, September 8 and mention your attendance at the Virginia Interoperable Communications Conference in order to obtain this special conference rate. For your convenience, the Hotel will be establishing a link specifically for this conference for you to be able to make your hotel reservations on-line. The link will be forwarded to you once it is made available. Please note there will be a $25 registration fee this year for all attendees to help offset conference costs. (NOTE: Participating vendors and sponsors will be registered at NO CHARGE upon receipt of their agreement forms) Conference Sponsor and Exhibitor Agreement Forms are attached for those who are interested!! Many of our exhibitors have communicated over the years that they have enjoyed having more time where conference attendees could discuss how those technologies and services could assist with improving interoperability. We plan to maintain this level of open dialog to ensure that all conference attendees are aware of what technologies and services are available. Exhibitors will also have MORE SPACE this year. Last year's space in Roanoke was a little tight, but this year's space is inside the Marriott's Hampton Ballroom I-IV, which is more than adequate, and the break food will also be inside this space for increased traffic for exhibitors. You can access the Commonwealth Interoperability website for more information on interoperability and conference updates at www.interoperability.virginia.gov. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. We look forward to seeing you in Norfolk this year!
